-If you noticed, every Autobot and Decepticon when they talk, they talk with a metalic tint to their voice which sets them aside from the humans when they talk. The Transformers are, of course, aliens. anyway this is called 'Flanging' in which their voice is run through the synthesizer and processed to create the Flanging sound on their voice.
- In the third season of Transformers, many laser blast sound effects(like Galvatron's cannon) was taken from The Empire Strikes Back movie in which C3PO screamed "Don't!" on Bespin before he got blasted by Storm Troopers. The " Don't!" was morphed through a computer and used as a laser blast sound effect. Don't even ask me who came up with that idea....
-Speaking of Star Wars, the voice actor who did Insecticon Kickback named Clive Revill also did the voice of the Emperor from Empire Strikes Back.
-The Transformation sound was also done via computer and it wasn't to hard. Originaly when they transformed, they were going to sound kinda like the Go Bots when they tranformed. That sound was pretty much used universaly for all robots transforming like in Robotech or Machine Men.But Nelson Shin(our august producer) wanted a sound that was kinda a trademark for the Transformers and set them aside from all the other transforming robots.Deadlines had to be met fast for the More Than Meets The Eye trilogy written by George Arthur Bloom was set to be released and going through the gallery proof stages. After experimenting for a few days , several sound effects went to Nelson for screening and the first one he heard he fell immediately in love with and used thus the Transforming sound effect was born.
-Soundwaves voice was also done by taken Frank Welker's voice and Flaging it but running it through a voice synthesizer at the same time and altering it a bit. After taking one look at Soundwave, the producers wanted him mysterious and ellusive so they decided to have his voice set apart from the other Decepticons which in my opinion was a master brushstroke.
-Samantha Newark who did the voice for Ariel in episode 'Wardawn' and Elise Presser from episode 'B.O.T.' was also Jem from the Jem and the holograms cartoon..
-John Hostetter who was the voice for Ramhorn was also the voice for Bazooka from G.I.Joe and was a Bolian Officer in the movie Star Trek: Insurrection.
-Linda Gary was Chromia from 'Wardawn' was also Teela, Evil Lyn, Queen Marlene, and the Sorceress from the original He Man and the Masters of the Universe. Linda Gary died on Oct 6, 1995.
-Laurie Faso who was the voice for Divebomb, rampage, and Skydive was also the voice of Raphael for teenage mutant ninja turtles as well as Tunnel Rat for G.I.Joe. And Tunnel Rat's likeness was patterned after Larry Hama the writer of all the G.I.Joe comics and writter for many of the file cards on back of the packages.
-Micheal Bell who was Prowl,Bombshell, Brainstorm, First Aid, Sideswipe, Scrapper, Swoop, Gort(the headmaster for Highbrow) was also Groppler Zorn from the first Star Trek episode "Encounter at Farpoint". He also did Duke and Liftticket from G.I.Joe
-and speaking of Star Trek, Chistopher Charles Collins(aka Chris Latta) who did the voices of Starscream, Sparkplug, Wheeljack. Reflector, Defensor, and Skullcrucher was in several Star Trek episodes of The Next generation and Deep Space Nine as Klingons. he also did the voice for Cobra Commander, Breaker, Gung Ho, Short Fuse, Steeler, and Ripper. Chris Latta died June 12, 1994 in Ventura California from a heart attack due to a drug overdose..
.
Alan Oppenheimer who was the voice for Beachcomber, Breakdown, Seaspray, and Warpath was also Skeletor, Man At Arms, Cringer, Mer Man and Battle Cat from the He Man cartoon. He was also Koroth on episode 'the Rightful Heir' on Star Trek: The Next Generation..
Ron Gans who was Drag Strip was the voice of Armus on episode of "skin of evil" for Star Trek:the next generation
Micheal Horton who was Chip Chase was also Lt. Daniels from Star Trek Insurrection, a security officer from Star Trek: first contact, and Kovin in episode 'Retrospect' fron Star Trek Voyager.
Roger C. Carmel who was the voice for Bruticus, Cyclonus, Motormaster, and Unicron(in the series) was also Harry Mudd from the original Star Trek series.. Roger commited suicide in Hollywood California on Nov 11, 1986. This happened before the Transformers series was cancelled so Jack Angel( Ultra Magnus, Smokescreem, Ramjet ,Astrotrain, Arcana(headmaster), and Omega Supreme) was used for Cyclonus's voice for The Return of Optimus Prime pt 1 and 2 and for the Rebirth.
gee, there are alot of Star Trek actors who did voices for Transformers...and of course Leonard Nimoy who did Galvatron in the movie..
well that's all the trivia i can think of off the top of my head but i know there is alot more and will post it if anyone is interested...
a few other minor pointless facts about Voice actors...
Nelson Shin who was the producer for the Transformer cartoon is the one who came up with the effects for the light sabers in Star Wars..
Also Frank Welker replaced Lenord Nimoy as Galvatron in the series which is odd since Frank Welker also did the screams for Spock in Star Trek 3 when Spock dies..
Casey kasem who was Cliffjumper(as well as Dr. Archeville, Bluestreak, and Teletran One)in the movie did the countdown for the Autobot shuttle leaving moon base one. A inside joke, since Casey Kasem also does the top 40 countdown nationwide as a disc jockey...
